Plastics to Promise
Collected plastic waste, reborn as durable school chairs for Mandaue's public schools — cutting waste and giving students better places to learn.
Plastic waste piles up in our communities while public school students make do with too few chairs. Plastics to Promise connects those two problems into a single, hopeful solution — collecting discarded plastic and transforming it into durable chairs for the public schools of Mandaue.
JCI Mandaue mobilizes the community to gather plastic that would otherwise clog waterways and landfills, then channels it into manufacturing sturdy, long-lasting seats. Every chair keeps waste out of the environment and lands in a classroom, where a child gains a steadier, more dignified place to learn.
With a program value of ₱1,000,000, Plastics to Promise turns a daily nuisance into lasting promise — cleaner surroundings today, and better learning spaces for the students of Mandaue tomorrow. It is the Merry Men's belief in action: that what we throw away can still build something worth keeping.
